Job Purpose

The Young Professional – Communications will support WaterAid Bangladesh in enhancing its visibility and engagement across national and international audiences. Through active involvement in community outreach, stakeholder engagement, social and digital media, and news platforms, the incumbent will contribute to strengthening WaterAid’s reputation and promoting its mission. This role provides young professionals with the opportunity to develop their communication skills, gain hands-on experience in the development sector, and prepare for future professional contributions within an organisational setting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Produce creative campaign for social media ensuring online engagement and promotion 2. Supporting team to manage social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Tiktok, Yammer etc), maintain content calendar for social media, and deliver weekly report on analytics. 3. Leverage digital platforms and technologies to reach broader audiences, enhance footprints in digital space, and engage with stakeholders through social media, and other online channels 4. Undertake assignments like translation, transcription, and coordinate with other teams to provide required support 5. Assist in crafting compelling messages to engage external stakeholders including (but not limited to) press releases, social media posts, website content, photo stories, designed documents, AV production, and strategic presentations following WaterAid’s brand guidance and impeccable quality standards.

Requisite qualifications, experience, and attributes

Education: Fresh graduate (Bachelor's degree) in a relevant field such as Journalism, Media, Communication, Business Administration, Anthropology, or Urban and Regional/Rural Planning from a recognized university, with good academic results throughout the academic career. A postgraduate degree will be an added advantage Desired attributes:  Proficiency in writing and copy editing in both English and Bangla.  Ability to create content using Canva, Adobe Illustrator (or similar tools), or PowerPoint.  Strong leadership, facilitation, and presentation skills.  Excellent analytical abilities with the capacity to work independently and meet tight deadlines.  Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate, coordinate, and provide effective support across diverse teams.  Maximum age of 26 years as of January 1, 2025.

Salary & Benefits

Monthly Allowance BDT 30,000, Cell phone allowance, Festival allowance BDT 30,000 for completed tenure and Health Insurance for self.

Travel

Willingness to travel on a regular basis to remote areas of Bangladesh is required. 20-40% time should be dedicated to filed visits.
