Currently WaterAid is looking for a dynamic, committed, passionate and self-driven individual for the position of Senior Officer, Gender & Knowledge Management for its country office in Bangladesh.

Job Purpose

As a key member of the POD/Human Resource (HR) department, this position is responsible to facilitate robust human resource management across the organization promoting relevant policies/ practices/ procedures that includes, but not necessarily limited into, talent hunt and acquisition, learning & development, employee transition, engagement, relations, wellbeing; and also safeguarding principles. S/he will act as the custodian of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS); produce analytical report to support in making effective HR related decisions within the organization, amongst others, to contribute towards having a high performing team in a highly enabling work environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of a high-performing team, the incumbent shall: • Proactively support in talent hunt and onboarding right people at the right time through web-based recruitment portal • Lead the induction for new joiners and orientation for all on defined subject matters, collaborating with respective team members. • Ensure all team members have updated Job Description (JD) and annual objectives in place, extending necessary support to respective line managers for updating. • Articulate annual training plan based on training need assessment (TNA)/ development need exercises/ role’s requirement, organize formal/customized training/initiatives exploring suitable training providers and follow up learnings, maintaining a database/ annual training calendar and dashboard. • Promote healthy relations with colleagues across the board and support them in better understanding and upholding organizational values, culture, norms, ethos through relevant activities. • Facilitate FGD, employee engagement survey and open communications/ speaking up culture to promote team members to share feedback/ suggestions for continuous improvement of the organizational work culture and environment; and to act on. • Support in organising team building and related events to uphold team member’s interpersonal collaborations, cohesion, and collective excellence. • Drive for team members’ awareness on people related emerging (global) issues on power, diversity-equity-inclusion, wellbeing etc. at workplace and take related initiatives upon guidance of line manager. • Oversee insurance management; and settle issues with the provider, if necessary. • Ensure effective adoption and utilisation of WA Bangladesh portal under the global HRIS (PeoplePlace) updating HR info/data into that portal; and orient colleagues on its proper usage/ operation. Settle any functional loopholes in consultation with the global team. • Collate, analyse and produce HR related report for management decision in time. Review/draft memos, notes, budget, reports etc. and ensure documentation with precise information • Act as the Safeguarding Focal Point (SFP); and ensure rolling out safeguarding initiatives, SOP, as appropriate • Contribute to undertake worthy, innovative and effective work method, systems and approach in POD related interventions. Any other relevant tasks, as assigned by the line manager.

Requisite qualifications, experience, and attributes

JOB REQUIREMENTS/ PERSONAL PROFILE: Education: Master’s in Business Administration (major in HRM) /Management /Public Administration or relevant subject. Advance studies in Organisational Development or relevant subject will be preferred. Experience and knowledge: 05-07 years demonstrated experience in HR/People functions. Sound knowledge on contemporary HR trend, approach, practice, and processes; country employment/ labour law, online based portal etc. and demonstrated expertise on their application in professional career is required. Working experience in a diverse international organization will get advantage. Skills: Excellent presentation, facilitation and persuasive communication and negotiation skills, good report writing ability, sound knowledge on different computer applications particularly on MS word, excel, power point, outlook and software etc. Experience of using HRIS (human resource information system)/software with analysis is essential. Competencies: Quick learner and detail oriented; proactive and self-motivated; ability to work independently, manage information in confidential/sensitive manner; aptitude to understand people and able to draw confidence and support from others; possesses personal integrity, sense of transparency, proactive stance and respect for gender, diversity and organizational culture; able to plan and prioritize work and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
