Job Purpose

The incumbent will work under the Business Development and Quality Assurance Department implementing WASH projects for target communities in different areas of Bangladesh. The position is accountable for contributing to efficient management of grants, project management perspectives through quality reporting, coordination with multiple units within WAB and ensuring donor compliance's as per agreements. The programmes of WA Bangladesh aims to improve access to water and sanitation services and promotion of safe hygienic practices among the targeted underprivileged people living in different geographical context/ areas in Bangladesh. Under the programme intervention, WA Bangladesh works in multiple domains which includes low-income communities, institutions (schools, healthcare facilities), public sanitation (public toilets) and advocacy initiatives with the Government, in the respective project areas to improve their WASH services. This encompasses the 02 (two) strategic aims of WAB which are (i) Advancing climate resilient and inclusive WASH and (ii) Universal, sustainable and safe WASH for wider change.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will support the following: • Ensure that all donor compliance's and requirements are met with the existing and future grants • Guarantee excellent record keeping and tracking of donor provided contracts and related deliverables • Compile and write periodic reports for the donors as per the agreements • Maintain liaison with the donors, provide updates on various issues as the assigned focal from the Programme Department • Closely coordinate with global teams of WaterAid who maintains donor relationships • Coordinate with project/programme teams and implementing partners to obtain detailed understanding of the activities, progress and document them for various reporting purposes • Coordinate with MEL unit to track the performance of the projects according to proposed results matrix and collaborate with the Finance department to ensure that the projects meet the financial reporting requirements with the donors • As part of the knowledge management exercise capture critical learning through case studies and coordinate with communications team in furnishing case stories • Carry out analysis of different elements of projects/programmes in determining the performance, potential impacts and inform future project design • Support Programme Management team with furnishing ToRs, analysis of contracts and agreements signed with various donors, development partners and vendors • Work in close collaboration with multiple organizational units for designing new projects and writing proposals

Requisite qualifications, experience, and attributes

Education, knowledge and experience: • Master’s degree in any discipline preferably in Development Studies, Public Health, Economics, Environmental Science or relevant subject • Minimum 03 (three) years of work experience in the relevant field. Experience in dealing with multiple donors funded portfolio will be highly advantageous. However, for exceptional credentials and/or fast track professional growth record, the academic qualifications or years of experience can be relaxed. • Experience of working with international development agencies, private sector on WASH, climate change or market systems will be an advantage • Proven coordination skills involving different teams across the organisation and relevant stakeholders is crucial • Demonstrated respect for gender, diversity, organisational cultural and promote safeguarding and uphold organisational values. • Demonstrated interest in and awareness of issues related to development and multi-sectoral approaches. Professional and Technical Skills • Strong professional writing skill in English is essential. An overall IELTS score of 7.0 plus is highly desirable with at least 7.0 in the writing module • Ability to work adaptively and independently with minimal supervision and to produce outputs within tight deadlines in a fast-paced work environment. • Aptitude for innovation, to identify and explore new methods of working. • Excellent presentation, facilitation and communication skills. • Knowledge and skills of planning and budgeting, report writing Competencies: • Must be a person who is self-motivated with good interpersonal skills and capacity to understand and walk with people from all walks of life. • Possess personal integrity, flexible attitude, sense of transparency, proactive stance and respect for gender and organisational culture. • Competent to uphold organisational values, willingness to promote integrity in line with organisational mission and vision. • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Salary & Benefits

Monthly starting gross salary is BDT 62,000, this is flexible corresponding to the relevant higher skills, competencies and experiences. The benefits include festival bonus, provident fund and gratuity (total monthly salary package including benefits is BDT 76,218). In addition, life insurance for self, health insurance for self, spouse and children, cell phone allowances etc. are applicable as per policy provision.

Travel

Ready to undertake field visits outside Dhaka as and when necessary.
