Job Purpose

WaterAid is looking for deserving, dynamic, passionate and self-driven applicants for the role of ‘Young Professional’ for its country programme office in Bangladesh. The incumbent requires fresh graduate or nominal experience and is willing to gain some experiences to build up career in the development field with focus to the programme implementation. Young Professional (YP) does not mean a ‘staff’ employed by WaterAid Bangladesh, but it is a special programme through which WaterAid provides adequate support and opportunity to the Bangladeshi young and talented aspirants having good academic background. This will enable them to develop their skills within an organisational setting, gain relevant experience and prepare themselves for future professional contributions. Young Professional-communications will support in enhancing WaterAid’s presence & visibility among national and international audience through vibrant engagement at community, stakeholder, social, digital, and news media. This incumbent will play an important role in developing and implementing effective communication strategies that enhance the organisation's reputation, promote its goals, and ensure clear and consistent messaging across various channels.

Key Responsibilities

1. Produce creative campaign for social media ensuring online engagement and promotion 2. Supporting team to manage social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Tiktok, Yammer etc), maintain content calendar for social media, and deliver weekly report on analytics. 3. Leverage digital platforms and technologies to reach broader audiences, enhance footprints in digital space, and engage with stakeholders through social media, and other online channels 4. Undertake assignments like translation, transcription, and coordinate with other teams to provide required support 5. Assist in crafting compelling messages to engage external stakeholders including (but not limited to) press releases, social media posts, website content, photo stories, designed documents, AV production, and strategic presentations following WaterAid’s brand guidance and impeccable quality standards.

Requisite qualifications, experience, and attributes

Education: A Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in journalism, media, communication, business administration, anthropology, urban and regional/rural planning, or relevant subject from any recognised university Desired attributes: • Strong in writing and copy editing in both English and Bangla • Ability to develop content in Canva, Adobe Illustrator (or equivalent), or PowerPoint • Admirable leadership, facilitation, and presentation skills • Strong analytical skills, and capacity to work independently and meet tight deadlines. • Excellent interpersonal skill and ability to provide effective support and to collaborate and coordinate across different teams from diverse background • Basic understanding of development programmes and work • Competent to make effective decisions upholding organizational values and Code of Conduct.

Salary & Benefits

BDT 30,000, Cell phone allowance, Festival allowance BDT 30,000 for completed tenure and Health Insurance for self.

Travel

Willingness to travel on a regular basis to remote areas of Bangladesh is required. 20-40% time should be dedicated to filed visits.
