Job Purpose

The main objective of engaging the YP is to provide support and opportunities for young and talented Bangladeshi individuals. This initiative aims to help them develop their skills within an organisational environment, gain valuable experience, and prepare to make professional contributions in various organisational settings in the future. The YP-Finance role will provide a chance to learn and contribute to enhancing WaterAid’s finance and administrative functions. This will involve on-the-job training, including coaching and practical experience. Responsibilities will include managing petty cash, handling staff advances and monitoring, performing bank reconciliations, maintaining voucher records and documentation, assisting with daily financial operations as needed, and coordinating with other teams within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the YP are the following: 1. Maintain cash management 2. Travel advance process and adjustment or reimbursement travel expense both local and international. 3. Dollar endorsement for international travel advance. 4. Manage staff advance . 5. Bank reconciliation for all accounts. 6. Monthly payment process like; overtime, mobile bill, internet bill, WASA, DESCO etc. 7. Small scale vendor payment process 8. Payment of contractual/casual staff remuneration 9. Voucher filing and audit support. 10. PAID seal affixed on vouchers 11. Support team for timely payment These responsibilities will be reviewed with the line manager from time to time.

Requisite qualifications, experience, and attributes

Education: A Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance or relevant subject from any recognised university Desired attributes: • Demonstrated excellence on extracurricular activities (to mention in the CV) • Proficient written and verbal communication skills both in Bangla and English • Admirable leadership, interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation skills • Strong analytical skills, and capacity to work independently and meet tight deadlines

Salary & Benefits

BDT 30,000, Cell phone allowance, Festival allowance BDT 30,000 for completed tenure and Health Insurance for self.

Travel

Willingness to travel on a regular basis to remote areas of Bangladesh is required.
